APPRAISER - BANKS COUNTY BOARD OF ASSESSORS

The Banks County Board of Assessors is currently seeking applications for the role of Appraiser. The selected candidate will assist in appraising real property to determine fair market value for ad valorem tax purposes. This position involves both fieldwork and office tasks. You will need to be able to present information effectively to the public and colleagues. While experience in real estate or construction is beneficial, we are open to training motivated individuals who are eager to succeed. Candidates with current Georgia Department of Revenue certification are highly encouraged to apply.

Salary: Based on qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain Appraiser I Certification from the Georgia Department of Revenue within the first year of employment.
  • Proficient computer and math skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and understand complex appraisal principles and techniques.
  • Physical capability to walk, climb, crouch, and maneuver at inspection sites.
  • Strong project management and judgment skills.
  • Willingness to attend out-of-town classes.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen test and comply with all employer and department policies.

County Paid Benefits:

Health Insurance - PPO 100% after deductible/out-of-pocket. Effective the first of the month following 60 days of fulltime employment.

Life Insurance: $20,000 employee; $5,000 each for spouse/child(ren).

Short-term Disability: Pays 50% of your average wages up to 26 weeks.
