Selit North America to locate in Banks County
A German manufacturer of polystyrene foams is investing $45 million to build a plant in the Grove Creek Business Park at Banks Crossing. The SELIT North America facility will create 100 jobs, including manufacturing and administrative positions. "This facility ... will provide the company with access to a robust workforce and close proximity to the Southeastern market for ideal production conditions and shorter delivery times," Gov. Nathan Deal said. "I am encouraged to see yet another leading European company locate here." SELIT Europe, founded in 1948, is Europe's leader in producing underlayment foam used for floating flooring. Its U.S. affiliate, SELIT North America, is family-owned and holds the largest market share in its North American niche market. The product is designed for America's top-tier flooring manufacturers as well as do-it-yourself customers.
