NOVEMBER 5, 2024 GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION AUDIT NOTICE

To be published in the legal organ of the county. O.C.G.A § 21-2-498

Notice is hereby given that A RISK LIMITING AUDIT shall take place for the November 5, 2024 General and Special Election at the Election Office location at 226 Candler St, Homer, Georgia 30547 on the following days and times.

Friday, November 15, 2024 beginning at 9:00AM until complete

This process is open to the public.

Notice To Public

All early voting will end on November 1 at 5:00 p.m. 

Absentee Ballot Drop Box 

A Drop Box will be available for absentee ballots at the Election Office (located inside) ONLY during all early voting hours as per SB 202, and will close on Friday, November 1 at 5PM. Ballots may be dropped off until 7PM on November 5, 2024 to the election staff located at 226 Candler Street in Homer,

Absentee ballots will not be received at the polling location on Election Day

Absentee Ballot Applications may be submitted for the November 5 General Election starting on August 19 until Friday October 25, 2024.

Notice To Public

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(3), this is to notify the citizens of Banks County that the Banks County Board of Elections and Registration will begin the early tabulation of absentee ballots cast in the November 5, 2024 General and Special Elections for Banks County at 3PM on November 5, 2024 at the Election Office located at 226 Candler Street, Homer, Georgia 30547. All ballots accepted will be opened and scanned and early voting equipment will be closed out.  Open to the Public.

Notice To Public

Pursuant to SEB RULE 183-1-14-0.7-.15, this is to notify the citizens of Banks County that the Banks County Board of Elections and Registration will begin to open the outer envelope of accepted absentee ballots in the November 5, 2024 General Election for Banks County, remove the contents including the absentee ballot, and scan the absentee ballot using one or more scanners on the following schedule:

Tuesday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. until all ballots have been opened and scanned and on Tuesday, November 5 at 3 p.m. until all ballots have been opened and scanned in accordance with this rule, and may continue until all accepted absentee ballots are processed. However, no person shall tally or tabulate, estimate or cause the voting equipment to produce any tally or tabulation, partial or otherwise, of absentee votes cast until the time for the closing of the polls on November 5, 2024. The opening and scanning of the ballots for the November 5, 2024 for the General and Special Elections, will take place at the Elections Office located at 226 Candler Street, Homer, Georgia 30547. Open to the Public.

The Election Day Polling Location will be located at the Banks County Recreation Department Gym.

Polls are OPEN 7AM TO 7PM ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024 for Election Day

Pursuant to O.C.G.A § 21-2-492 notice is hereby given that the computation and canvassing of the returns of votes cast in the November 5, 2024 General Election for Banks County will take place in the Election Office located at the 226 Candler Street, Homer, Georgia 30547.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-493 notice is hereby given that the computation and canvassing of the returns of votes cast in the November 5, 2024 General Election for Banks County will take place in the Election Office located at the 226 Candler Street, Homer, Georgia 30547, beginning on November 5, 2024 beginning after 7 pm until continue until completion.

Logic & Accuracy Testing Public Notice

To be published in the legal organ of the county. O.C.G.A. §21-2-379.25, SEB Rule No. 183-1-12.02(3)(b)1(i) ( Election Day) and SEB Rule No. 183-1-14-.02 (2)

Notice is hereby given that the logic and accuracy testing and preparation of Voting equipment to be used in the November 5, 2024 General Election for Banks County will begin as early as September 9 at 10:00AM  (or once database has been received from the SOS Office). Testing will continue from day to day from 9AM-4PM until complete and members of the public representatives of the parties and bodies, and news media are entitled to be present during testing, but shall not interfere in any way with such testing. Said testing and preparation will be conducted at the Election Center located at 226 Candler Street – Homer, GA 30547.

NOTICE OF ELECTION CANCELLATION

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. §21-2-291 and §21-2-325, notice is hereby given that the Banks County Special Election scheduled for November 5, 2024, is cancelled. The following candidate has qualified for office and is unopposed:

For Board of Education Post 5: Eli Cooper

The above unopposed candidate shall be deemed to have voted for himself.
