Take a step back in time. The annual Day at the Fort celebration is held each year from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on one Saturday in May at Fort Hollingsworth - White House. Fort Hollingsworth is located just off Highway 441 between Cornelia and Homer, in the Hollingsworth Community at 2307 Wynn Lake Rd. Alto, Ga. 30510. Watch for the signs. Activities include tours of the pioneer fort built-in 1793, music, dancing, storytelling, food, car show and a Civil War re-enactment. Bring a lawn chair, a camera and spend the day. It's also an opportunity for an educational experience involving historic foothill culture. Best of all there is no gate fee!
